According to the California Department of Education, there are 5 ways to legally homeschool in California. These 5 ways include: enrolling in a public charter school, filing a private school affidavit, hiring a certified tutor/hold CA teaching credential, enroll in a private school satellite program or using public school independent study program. Each one differs from one another and should be explored further to match a family’s needs.
